I just plugged in the Flirc and I was able to control Kodi with the Harmony remote.also without lag.įlirc and my Harmony remote are a perfect pair. At first glance it would be remarkably easy to confuse the Flirc unit with an actual thumb drive as the clear case, visible circuit board, and the IR receiver points (that look much like LED indicator lights) all strongly echo the design of thumb drive storage. After syncing the new device I launched Kodi and found that the Harmony remote controls Kodi easily without lag.Īfter setting up the Windows machine I unplugged the Flirc and moved to the room with the Raspberry Pi. Flirc (20) is a tiny USB dongle about half the size of a traditional thumb drive. The input for manufacturer was Flirc and the input for model was XBMC (or Kodi, both words work the same). After a reboot, I launched the My Harmony application to add a device. The flirc is setup on the Minimalist profile, but i would love to get a bit more control with my Harmony One. In the harmony software a added the Flirc (xbmc) as a new device and made a new activity. I plugged the Flirc into the Windows machine and installed the Flirc software for Windows. My setup is a Harmony One, Raspberry Pi with XBMC (openelec), Onkyo TX-SR608 and a Panasonic TX-P50ST50E. Everything is working perfectly on both the Windows and the OpenELEC machines. I discovered that setup with the Logitech remote could not have been easier. I also have a Raspberry Pi running openELEC and I was hoping that I could use the same Flirc and remote with the RPi without too much difficulty. It all seems to work very well on any device i try and i can control most of my OpenElec system. adapters require the computer to understand I.R. However, Flirc is different from other I.R. Unfortunately, the keyboard keys used do not match with other Android applications, which prevents a single Logitech Harmony activity from controlling Android TV adequately. The profile uses Kodi’s keyboard controls. Today I setup Flirc for my Windows 7 HTPC with Kodi to work with a Logitech Harmony 300 programmable remote control. Flirc is a small USB infra-red (I.R.) adapter that receives I.R. In Flirc’s firmware is a built in Kodi profile that can be used with a Logitech Harmony remote immediately.
